We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or subscriber information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Payment Processors and Third-Party Service Providers
We use a number of trusted third-party platforms and tools to run our business and deliver our services. Each of these providers may receive or process some of your personal information, only to the extent necessary for them to perform their function for us:
- Teachery - our course hosting and checkout platform. Handles your purchase history, course access, and some payment processing.
- Flodesk - our email marketing platform. Handles your contact details and email communications.
- Stripe - our payment processor. Handles your payment card details and transaction information directly, we do not see or store your full card details.
- Zoom - used for live calls, coaching sessions and Q&As. May capture your name, email, and audio/video if you attend a call.
- Facebook - our private community group is hosted on Facebook. Facebook's own privacy policy governs how they handle your data as a platform, separate from ours.
- Airtable - used for certain forms and applications. Handles the information you submit through those forms.
- Notion - may be used for certain forms, applications, or internal record-keeping related to your membership or enquiries.
- Loom - used to create video recordings, for example to answer member questions. These recordings may be shared with the Biz Bestie Club community.
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and security practices governing how they handle data on their platform. We choose providers we trust, but we encourage you to review their policies if you'd like to understand more about how they individually handle information.
6. Information Disclosure
Beyond the third-party service providers listed above, we may disclose your personal information if:
- Required by law - for example, in response to a court order, subpoena, tax authority request, or other legal process
- To protect rights and safety - if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or a breach of our terms
- In connection with a business transfer - if Team Mac Ltd is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that process. We would take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be protected.
- With your consent - if you've given us permission to share your information for a specific purpose (for example, featuring your testimonial in our marketing, see Section 9)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
7. Cookies, Tracking and Analytics
Our sites use cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognise you, remember your preferences, keep you logged in where relevant, and understand how our site is used.
This may include:
- Analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, or the analytics built into platforms like Teachery and Flodesk), which help us understand visitor behaviour, popular content, and how people move through our site
- Retargeting and advertising pixels (such as a Meta/Facebook pixel), which help us show relevant ads to people who've previously visited our site or engaged with our content
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. If you disable cookies, some parts of our site may not function as well, or at all.
8. AI Tools and Generated Content
We use AI tools, including Claude by Anthropic, in parts of our business, for example to help draft content, manage internal systems, support customer service, or assist with administrative tasks.
We do not feed your personal identifying information into AI tools beyond what's reasonably necessary to run our business and support you. Any AI-assisted content you receive from us, whether that's an email, workbook, resource, or response, is reviewed by a real human before it reaches you. AI tools can occasionally produce inaccurate information, so we encourage you to use your own judgement with any content, and to reach out directly if something seems off.
9. Testimonials, Community Content, Calls and Recordings
Community content: If you're a member of Biz Bestie Club, anything you post inside the community or our Facebook group, including comments, questions and discussion, may be visible to other members as part of that community experience. Please keep this in mind when sharing personal or sensitive information in these spaces.
Call recordings: Biz Bestie Club calls (including coaching sessions and Q&As) may be recorded. These recordings may be shared with the community via Teachery and/or our Facebook group, so other members who couldn't attend live can access them.
Loom recordings: We may create Loom video recordings to answer member questions or provide additional support. These recordings may also be shared within the Biz Bestie Club community.
Testimonials: If we'd like to feature your testimonial, success story, or a quote from you in our marketing (on our sites, social media, or sales pages), we will ask your permission first. We won't use your name, image, or story in external marketing without checking with you.
If you have concerns about being recorded or featured, please reach out to us directly.
10. International Members and Data Transfers
Team Mac Ltd is based in New Zealand, and your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in New Zealand, as well as by the third-party providers listed in Section 5, some of whom may be located in other countries (including the United States).
If you're joining us from outside New Zealand, by using our sites and services you consent to this transfer. New Zealand has been recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection, which supports the lawful transfer of personal data from the UK and EU to New Zealand.
11. GDPR and UK Data Protection Rights
While we don't currently have members based in the UK or European Union, we want this policy to be ready for that, and we're committed to honouring the same standard of rights for any UK or EU member who joins us in future.
If you're located in the UK or EU, in addition to the rights listed in Section 15, you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your data is collected and used (which this policy sets out)
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request erasure of your data ("the right to be forgotten"), subject to our legal record-keeping obligations
- Restrict or object to certain processing of your data
- Request a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe we've mishandled your data
Our legal basis for processing your data is generally one of the following: your consent (for example, opting into marketing emails), the necessity of processing to fulfil a contract with you (for example, delivering a purchase or membership), or our legitimate business interests (for example, improving our services), balanced against your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 20.
12. How Your Data Is Processed
Most of the processing of your personal information happens through the third-party platforms listed in Section 5 (such as Teachery, Flodesk, Stripe, and our other tools), rather than through internal systems we've built ourselves. We rely on these providers to handle data securely and in line with their own privacy and security standards, and we choose providers with strong reputations and track records.
13. Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as you're a customer, subscriber, or member, and for a reasonable period after that to meet our legal, tax, accounting, and business record-keeping obligations.
If you unsubscribe or your membership ends, we may still retain some information (such as purchase records) for as long as required by law, even if we stop actively using it for marketing.
If you ask us to delete your information under the rights listed in Section 15, we will do so unless we're legally required to retain it.
14. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, including relying on reputable third-party platforms (such as Teachery, Flodesk, Stripe, and the other providers listed in Section 5) that maintain their own industry-standard security measures.
No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we take data security seriously and take reasonable precautions, we can't guarantee absolute security of your information.
15. Your Rights
Regardless of where you're located, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal record-keeping requirements
- Ask us to stop using your information for a particular purpose
- Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@anitamac.com. We'll respond as promptly as we reasonably can.
16. Children
Our sites, content, membership and services are not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
17. Third-Party Links
Our sites and content may contain links to other websites or platforms that we don't own or control (including the third-party tools listed in Section 5). We aren't responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of those external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
18. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy, and any dispute arising from it or from your use of our sites and services, is governed by the laws of New Zealand, regardless of where you access our sites from. Where consumer protection laws in your own country grant you rights that can't be excluded, those rights are unaffected by this clause.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as our business, tools, or the law changes. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of our sites or services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
